      PIC SUMMER INTERNSHIPS PROGRAM

Every summer, in partnership with the City of Boston, the Boston Public Schools, and local private sector employers to participate in the Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program.
Boston high school students are hired each summer to work in employer-paid jobs or internships at more than 200 private sector companies and institutions in Boston’s top industries including health care, financial services, life sciences, technology, architecture and law.
Schedule: July - August | 6 -7 weeks | Monday - Friday
Hours: 25 - 40 Hours (Schedules may vary   
Wage: $15 - $18 (Wages vary based on employers)  
Program Eligibility : 
1) Must be 9th-12th grader at a Boston Public School 
2) Must be 16 years old by July 1, 2026
    *Some Hospital Internships require you to be 16 by May 1, 2026
4) Must be authorized to work in the United States

Important:
Some healthcare and law employers will require additional materials after submission:
1. Letter of recommendation from 1-2 teachers
2. Recent report card/school transcript
3. Essay/Personal statement

 
PREPARE YOUR HIRING DOCUMENTS
1) Unexpired Photo ID
    U.S. Citizens:
    Massachusetts ID, U.S. Passport, or Student ID with Picture
    Non-U.S. Citizens:
    Green card, I-94, or EAC Card 

2) Signed Social Security Card 
3) Proof of COVID-19 vaccination/booster*
​    *Please note that vaccination requirements vary by work site

ACE YOUR INTERVIEW
  • Prepare to hear from your PIC Career Specialists via email or phone for interview dates. Don’t forget to activate and check your voicemail.​
  • Confirm your availability and set a reminder for the date and time of your in-person or virtual interview. Reach out to your PIC Career Specialist to help you prepare for your interview 

Important: Contact your PIC Career Specialist if you cannot attend your interview or have any technical issues.

  • Check your email (including spam and trash folders) daily for job offers.
  • ​Accept the offer by the deadline with a professionally written email
  •  Mark your calendar with the important dates:
    • Onboarding
